Looking to beat out its chief rival, the BMW M5, Audi’s RS6 will get its power from a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8, capable of making 572 hp.
Developed in partnership with Bentley, the turbo V8 can also be found in S6, S7 and S8, though in a less powerful form. By adding a turbocharger, horsepower increases by 59, from the 513 hp found in the Audi S8, to the 572 hp rating found in the RS6. This matches the power that the last generation RS6 got out of its V10 engine. Torque will also get a boost, and will sit somewhere around 516 lb-ft.
These numbers will beat out the 552 hp in the M5 and the maximum 549 hp available with the current Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. More aluminum and carbon fiber will help the RS6 shed some pounds, while Audi’s all-wheel drive setup will provide the traction. Expect the 0-60 mph time to be somewhere in the four second range.
